How to DNA Test Your Calves
11 am to 3 pm - Friday, April 25th, 2025
The South Poll Grass Cattle Association has announced that for all calves born starting June 1st, 2025, you will have to DNA test them to prove the sire in order to register your South Poll calf. We know this can feel intimidating, but with almost a decade of experience, we will show you how easy it can be. We have invited both Merck (who makes the tissue sampling units we use) and Neogen (who performs the DNA test) to be on hand to give a presentation and answer any questions you may have. Everyone is welcome to the seminar. It should be a great opportunity to meet with other South Poll producers, eat some great BBQ, learn how to DNA test your calves, and maybe go home with a raffle prize (you will be entered in a drawing for a tissue sampling applicator among other items)! Registration is limited to 100 participants. If you have bought any cattle in our online auction the day before, we will have them ready to load out and go home with you following the seminar.
