We hired consultants, attended seminars on what to look for when selecting cattle, and we looked at a lot of South Poll cattle . . . a whole lot of cattle. We traveled out of state purchasing cattle in Alabama, Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky, and brought these South Polls to Texas. Fortunately for you, over the past decade, we have done the work for you. The lush green pastures are a rancher's paradise . . . except for the oppressive heat and humidity we have in the summer. But, this is where our Registered South Poll cattle excel: they were bred for these subtropical summers. When other cattle stand in the water tank, our South Polls are out and grazing. With their grass-fed genetics, good mothering, moderate size, depth of body, and beautiful slick hide, we were sold on South Polls and you may be too! But perhaps we should back up. This may be your first introduction to South Polls. South Polls were created in Alabama by Teddy Gentry of the Country Hall of Fame group, Alabama. Starting in 1989 he worked to create a four-way cross utilizing the best genetics from Hereford, Red Angus, Senepol, and Barzona.
